PROMISE: HOPE

God will gather his people (2:12-13)


CHAPTER 3-5

JUDGMENT: FAILED LEADERSHIP

Abuse of power (3:1-4)

Misuse of Prophetic Office (3:5-8)

Judgment against the Heads of Jacob (3:9-12)


PROMISE: A SHEPHERD-KING

Nations will come in peace (4:1-5)

Promise to gather Zion (4:6-8)

Nations approach for battle (4:9-5:1)

The Shepherd-King praised (5:2-6)

A Remnant among the Nations (5:7-9)

God will cleanse His people of Idols (5:10-15)


CHAPTER 6-7

JUDGMENT: INDICTMENT

Interrogation and response (6:3-8)

Israel’s crimes and sentence (6:9-16)

Consequences of Disobedience (7:1-6)

Hope (7:7)


PROMISE: RESTORATION

God will restore his people and kingdom (7:8-13)

God will silence the Nations (7:14-17)

God’s faithfulness and compassion expressed

in restoration of covenant relationship (7:18-20)
