Our Story

Restore Church started with a prayer and an opportunity. Our pastor, Justin Pearson, was praying about church planting opportunities in his hometown, Albuquerque, and particularly in the the Southeast part of the city. Soon Justin found out that Anchor Church and pastor Jared Bridge had been given a building to use and wanted to plant a church in the exact area that Justin was praying over, God is great isn't He? Justin started talking with Anchor Church's leadership in November of 2019 and the Pearson family moved back to Albuquerque in March of 2020.

We started gathering as a core group in March of 2020. Our small team grew as we dealt with the realities of global pandemic. In August of 2020 we held our first public service Anchor South, part of the Anchor family of churches, at New Beginnings-Crestview Church.  Christmas Eve 2020, we held our first service in our current location with Anchor Church and SEND Network  renovated for a church plant and a city-wide leadership development residency program.

We've been meeting publicly since August 2020 and are now being sent out as Restore Church, Seeking Gospel Restoration in the International District of Albuquerque.  The International District is informally, but widely, known as the "War Zone" because of a history of violence.  While many are working hard to see things turn around, the neighborhood is still rife with problems; homelessness, addiction, poverty, and hopelessness.

As we transition to this new name and new vision we are an independent church that will still partner in ministry with Anchor. We are so excited to see what God has for us as we Seek Gospel Restoration in our city!
